Are you a chocoholic with a penchant for sweet tasting hazelnuts? If so, Samsung have provided this easy, quick and ridiculously delicious dessert for you chocolate lovers out there which requires minimal effort, you really don’t need to be a professional baker or chocolatier to perfect this lovely dessert!

You can make this tart using any oven, however life is made a whole lot easier with Samsung’s Dual Zone technology, this allows the user to access heating in either the top or bottom half of the oven, or set two completely different temperatures within the same oven cavity, basically transforming your single oven into a double oven, allowing you to cook two different dishes at separate temperatures.

On top of all this, the pre-programmed settings help you master the toughest of culinary creations… We could keep talking on the Infinite range’s features and useful settings; however let’s crack on with the recipe:

INGREDIENTS

  • 115g plain flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 25g cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp icing sugar
  • 75g cold butter, cut into cubes

For the filling

  • 200ml double cream
  • 200g 70% dark chocolate
  • 200g light soft brown sugar
  • pinch of sea salt flakes

For the nut brittle

  • 50g mixed nuts, roughly chopped
  • 100g caster sugar

Step 1

Start by combining your dry ingredients flour, cocoa, and icing sugar in a bowl of a food processor and blend. Then add the butter, blend until the consistency is breadcrumb like.

Now add around two to three tablespoons of cold water blending once again until it has formed a ball. Cover and place in your Samsung fridge for 30mins. Roll out the pastry until 3mm thick on a floured surface top, then line a 23cm loose-based tart tin. Trim edges & chill again.

Step 2

As touched on earlier, if you are fortunate enough to have a Dual Cook Samsung oven, separate into individual zones with the top section at 180c & the bottom section to 140c, this would be where you would have to individually cook all the ingredients separately without one (bummer I know!). In the chilled pastry case, scrunch up a piece of parchment paper and line your case, you will then need to fill with ceramic baking beans if available; otherwise dried rice will do the trick. Bake for 15 mins in the top half zone in your oven, remove the paper and ceramic beans after the 15 mins. Plug any cracks using offcuts, then cook for another 5 to 10 mins until the pastry case is cooked through and dry. Leave out to cool.

Whilst this cools you can tip the nuts onto a parchment lined baking sheet, then toast for 15 mins in the bottom oven until golden. Leave to cool.

Step 3

If you have a heavy based pan add the sugar to a medium heat until amber for around 3-4 minutes, avoid stirring, just slightly tilt the pan until all the sugar dissipates. When it has finally melted and is golden you can pour the luscious caramel all over the toasted nuts in the pre-lined tray. To make it even, tilt the tray to give you a thin layer of caramel & then leave to cool & set.

Step 4

Now is time to add your filing ingredients to a heat proof bowl also adding a pinch of sea salt, place over a simmering pan of water to melt. Stir occasionally until everything is a nice glossy & smooth consistency. In your cooled pastry case, pour in the filing & place in the refrigerator for minimal 3 hours until firm & set.

Step 5

Prior to serving, remove from the refrigerator 20 mins beforehand, you can now snap your brittle into shards and decorate your tart as you like.

Step 6

Cut, serve & enjoy – You deserve it!
